About Me

Media Statement Inspiration
Most of my paintings are made on canvas. I use colour pencils to sketch the drawing and gouache for the first layers along with acrylics. Generally acrylic painting is my optimal medium in order to complete the paintings. Sometimes I use decorative elements such as decoupage or gold leaf. My work has autobiographical elements, drawing inspiration from deep emotional experiences and thoughts on love, heartbreak, self-discovery and honing the power of strong feelings. At the same time, the paintings embrace a great sense of female empowerment. My inspiration is female portraiture with realistic elements which contrasts with the pop surrealistic and abstract elements of the backgrounds. Artists such as Bjork and David Bowie have kept my creative flow rich and energetic. Florence Welch is my artistic goddess and muse. Moreover, Frida Kahlo, Jean Michel Basquiat and the Vienna Secession are extremely influential towards my techniques.Female portraiture and generally women are the core of my work and inspiration.
